Succinic anhydride CAS 108-30-5 is an organic compound with a molecular formula of C4H4O3. It is widely used as a food additive, as a flavoring agent for soy sauce, sake, and beverages. This product can be used as a modifier for alkyd resins and unsaturated polyester resins to improve its adhesion and water resistance. Colorless needle-like or granular crystals, soluble in ethanol, chloroform and carbon tetrachloride, slightly soluble in water and ether. It can be hydrolyzed to succinic acid in hot water.
