Paradichlorobenzene PDCB (also called 1,4-Dichlorobenzene and p-dichlorobenene) is an important moth repellent chemicals. It exists in white laminated shape or granulated crystals, insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ethyl ether, benzene and other organic solvents. PDCB can be used as pesticide, detergent and produce mothballs.
Paradichlorobenzene is organic synthesis materials, used in the synthesis of dyes (red base GG and red base 3GL, reactive yellow and red RC) and pesticide intermediates, pesticides, mothproof fabric etc. It can also be used as a fumigation agent, anti mildew agent, air sweetening agent. 65-70% of Paradichlorobenzene is used in the manufacture of mothball, a small amount for extreme pressure lubricant, a corrosion inhibitor. This product is also used in medicine.
