Lanolin anhydrous is light yellow or brown yellow sticky and greasy paste; odor weak and specific. Soluble in chloroform or ether, soluble in hot ethanol, very slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in water and has excellent emulsifying performance. Lanolin can not be saponified in Caustic soda but in ethanol solution of caustic soda it can be saponified via pressurizing and heating. Strong moisture absorption. Melting point 36-42 C, the acid value less than 1.5, saponification value 92-106 (by heating reflux time 2H), iodine value 18-35 (measured in the dark for 4h). Lanolin has stable chemical properties, good adhesion to the metal surface.

Application
Industrial use: for the preparation of advanced anti rust oil, low temperature lubricant, printing ink, fiber oil agent, leather additive, plastic plasticizer, latex foam, etc..
Medicine use: for the preparation of rheumatism ointment, Zinc Oxide rubber ointment and ointment base material etc.
Cosmetic use: lanolin can be used for cold cream, wrinkle cream, anti crack cream, shampoo, hair conditioner, hair cream, lipstick and soap. Used as oil emulsifier, is an excellent nourishing substance. The skin can be softened and recovered due to the lack of natural moisture.
